How to prepare for your HIFU Treatment

There isn’t any special preparation needed prior to having your HIFU treatment, but preferably arrive at your appointment without any makeup on the treatment area. It’s always good to avoid sun exposure. If you are taking antibiotics please let us know. HIFU isn't recommended for people with infections and open skin lesions at the target area, severe or cystic acne, and metallic implants in the treatment area.

Important things to note before treatment: 

​

  • Avoid botox/filler 2 weeks before treatment & after treatment

  • Avoid having any laser treatments on the area 2 weeks before treatment

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure (sunburn) on the area 2 weeks before treatment

  • Avoid any anti-inflammatory medication 48hrs prior

  • HIFU is not suitable for those who are pregnant 

  • If you have dermal implants, or any metal implants including chin implant/s, please let us know.

  • If you’re currently taking any acne or skin thinning, or photosensitive medication such as Roaccutane, we can’t treat your skin as there is a risk of burning

  • If you have any open sores, acne, infection or skin sensitivity in the area we cannot treat with HIFU

  • We can’t treat with HIFU if you have previously had threads within the last year

After your HIFU Facelift Treatment

Your HIFU Technician will book you in for a post-treatment assessment 4 weeks after your HIFU Facelift. 

​

  • It’s normal for the area to feel warm or tight immediately after your HIFU treatment

  • The treated area may be flushed, red and feel tingly

  • Do not wax the treated area for 3-5 days

  • Do not laser the treated area for 2 weeks

  • Do not exfoliate the skin for 2-3 days

  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours

  • Avoid hot baths, steam rooms and massage for 24 hours

  • Avoid sunburn during the healing process of the skin for 2 weeks

  • If the skin feels hot or sensitive, apply serum as provided by your technician or a cold compress to the area

  • Apply SPF 30 daily

  • Drink plenty of water
